Ex libris

An ex-libris is a property mark designed by graphic artists and used by bibliophiles to stick in their books.
The text and/or the illustrations tell something more about the personality of the bibliopile or about the theme of the book, in which the ex-libris will be stuck.

The ex-libris often is a very attractive and artistically valuable print and therefore has grown to be an internationally desirable exchange object.

Next to the word "ex-libris" (or a similar formula) the ex-libris contains the name of the owner (mostly a collector of books and/or a public or scientific library).
